Thomas Holt Enjoying Solid Year with Southern States Modifieds

August 24, 2024

I want to start by stating how lucky I am to have the support of my family when it comes to racing. They have always encouraged me to pursue my passion and helped me along the way. Racing is not a cheap hobby, and I appreciate everything they have done for me. Over the years, I have made many friends at the track and with the series who are always offering help when needed. I am grateful for their advice and support. They have made racing more fun and rewarding for me. It is a great series to be a part of.

My car is out of a family race shop where we work together. It's a HigFab chassis, the only one running in the series currently. It's an older chassis that we have updated ourselves. It's my first year in this car and I'm dialing it in the more we run. I like the feel and the handling of this car, and I think it has a lot of potential.

I work on the setups for all the cars out of our shop, the #4, #33, and #42 car. That provides me with some information to figure out what works and what doesn't. I try to adjust to the track conditions and the weather as much as possible. In racing, you are always learning and striving for improvement.

This year has been a great year for me so far. I have had some good results and bad luck, but I'm happy with my overall performance. I qualified on the pole at Super Bee and finished fourth at 105 and at Sabine for the Doc Dillard Memorial race. At present, I am ranked third in points, and I aim to maintain this position. I would have laughed at you if you told me earlier this year I would be in this position. Especially after a DNF for equipment failure at the season opener at 105. I'm proud of what I have accomplished and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

I want to thank the series for putting on a great show and giving us a chance to race. With the support of Day Motorsports' free tire and Napa of Many $100 off a new tire giveaway every race, it helps a small team like ours. To all the series sponsors that support us and keep us racing, thank you. I also want to thank the fans for their support and enthusiasm. They make racing more exciting and enjoyable. I hope to see you all at the next race at Hunt County on September 20th and 21st and give you a good show.
