Anthony Meek records solid results in doubleheader weekend

Shreveport, LA 8/20/24

Anthony Meek highlighted a doubleheader weekend with the Southern States Modified Series with a third place finish Friday night (8/9/24) at the 3rd Annual Doc Dillard Memorial at Sabine Speedway and with a strong second place run on Saturday (8/10/24) at Ark-La-Tex Speedway.

“I’m proud of my season we’re having so far. We got this new car at the end of last year and it’s really stepped up my program for 2024 with the help of everyone at Bicknell and Dig Race Products with shocks.”

“We were fast right off the trailer the first race of the year at 105 speedway back in April and we’re steadily learning where the car needs to be better, what I as the driver likes, wants and needs to be better. We are getting better every time we hit the track. I’ve made some wrong choices behind the wheel this year and gave away the last one at 105 and feel I should have won one or two more. But, all in all I’m proud of myself for being as competitive as I am in only my 2nd full season of racing cars.”

Meek came “oh so close” to parking his 52m modified in victory lane before eventually settling for a 2nd place finish in the feature on Saturday, July 20 at 105 Speedway in Cleveland, TX. “We have finished 2nd five times this year with one 3rd and one 4th so it’ll be a matter of time before we end up in victory lane. It’s just making that first win coming that much sweeter. Everyone tells me the first one is the hardest to win and after that it gets a little easier. But, it’ll only get better from here and I’m looking forward to the last few races of the season.”

“I couldn’t do it without the help from my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ because without Him none of this would be possible. My Mom, Dad and my crew Aaron, David, John and my sponsors Mr. Dave with Accurate Collision of Pompano Beach, Florida. Mr. Russ Fletcher with Fletcher Custom Race Engines, Dig Race Products, East Coast Speed Shop and Signs and Graphics by Lenny. I’d like to thank everyone I can because I feel like a lot of times they go unrecognized. Thank you to Chris and Tim and everyone with the Southern States Modified Series. They don’t have to do it but they do it for the love of our sport and our class. Thanks to all the sponsors of the series, Day Motorsports, American Racer, Mayne Construction, Morrow Renewables, The Shed Road Auto Parts, Oltz Installation, Napa Auto Parts of Many, AMSRacing, Tyler Industrial Supply Company and all of the other numerous sponsors we have. Thank you to the tracks that host us and put on good shows every weekend for us racers. We couldn’t do it without everyone.”
